true, but nitpicking as it enables you to get more use out of the bike.

i'll switch my recommendation to muffs if rules are to be enforced so rigorously :)

Ok, ok......heated vest as well. For years I had heard people talking about them but never bothered, then about 6 years ado I went to buy one from my BMW dealer but they sold me instead the BMW under jacket that 'reacts' to ambient temperatures to heat you?? Kind of works?

Last year I gave in and bought a Widder vest - and without doubt - makes a huge difference during the 'shoulder' months.

By the way, seems Widder are closing the end of this year - maybe some bargaisn coming out?

Favourite bit - changing the bars! The newer models have decent bars as standard, but my 05 standard bars were appalling. A set of Renthals in the same bend as my Honda fixed that, and transformed the comfort levels.
Most useful bit - erm..., the rest of the bike? :D

In order

These are the items that I find most useful for me;

PANNIERS - i use 'em all the time and trips with the girlie would be impossible without em;)
MUFFS - wear unlined non waterproof gloves all year round:thumb
HEATED VEST-finally bought one in Dec' 07...some say they are for wimps but why be cold when you dont have to:nenau
GPS - use a map to plan the route and then a GPS to get you there. Saves stopping to read your map or ploughing into the rear of a vehicle because you had your head down trying to read the map in your tank bag.:blast
AUTOCOM - great if you regularly take a pillion + you can listen to your GPS and your ipod on longer trips. Never be alone again:thumb2
HIDS - my winter commute home is damn near dangerous on unlit A and B roads but not this year since I got my HID from Les a few months ago:thumb2

and on a 6 yrd old bike like mine the next best thing I bought was some nice new suspension :thumb

The bar risers helped with comfort quite a bit. I also have a Kaoko throttle control which only gets used on long m'way trips & Alaskan Sheepskin butt pad which I really like but is of dubious value. I have heated grips but they barely get used cos of the Muffs.

The rest, well its just bling isn't it:cool:
