I 've just got a nice deal on a GSA12 in red !! Sold my 06 on E bay thinking I could do without one !! Got caught in some really shite weather on my 990SM and knew what I had to do!!!great deal through SLM painless and easy ,pick it up next week while my wife is away so hope she wont notice the orange bike has morphed into a red one!! very pleased:thumb

Interesting!

Can you please tell us how you got on with the KTM? I've been considering getting one to replace my GS. Apparently not a good idea.....

Liked it a lot!! But had to ride it hard all the time ,like a cnut in fact but no protection ,snatchy even with a throttle cam and 16 tooth front sprocket and bound to loose my licence on it ,even more mental than the 950SM ,but I can only have 2 bikes now and I miss the GSA and need the T Max so the 990 is an extravagance if thats the right term ,if I could keep all 3 I would but even for us GP's the crunch is kicking in!!

Enjoy your new bike, Robbo.

Just out of curiosity, do you actually use yours for work?

I occasionally used the '06 GS when I was on call but I like the sheer practicality of the Vespa for town riding. Now that I've swapped for the GSA (in the much faster magnesium :D) I'm not sure I'll be using the GSA much at work at all.

Plus the Rally 2 suit doesn't really work well for house calls, if I'm honest.

Problem is that we live only a mile away from work and I don't much like the idea of repetitive short journeys for my new GSA.

Rob,

It was only a matter of time - I reckon BMW put some viral stuff on the handgrips that turns your brain and losens your wallet.

Enjoy the bike - You will spend loads of time now pushing the ESA button and cackling inside your helmet! :D
