Fecking annoying.

Found a dent in my spoked front wheel on my new (to me) 2020 R1250GS.

Can they be trued by some companies. The older chap I have used for wheel repairs before, says he doesn't touch BMW rims as they are a pain.

I was contemplating buying a set of cast wheels, as I hear they are lighter?

Any pro's or cons on the road?

Must've hit something hard. But it's a big heavy bike I suppose. Still, annoying.

I swapped my spoked wheels for cast ones from a GS. The other Tosser preferred spokes and was doing more offroad.
Looks (my preference) and ease of cleaning were my decision makers.
Not sure I can notice any weight saving, on a quarter-ton machine but considering them doubles your options for a replacement

Cast wheels also bend.

This Chap took a bend out of a cast wheel for me he made an excellent job of it, he can probably do spoked wheel rims as well.

maidstone motoliner did my my cast wheels and did a brilliant job. Also did friends wheels and they were happy chappies.

Nobody touches the spoked GS rims to straighten.

New rim only option other than full wheel. Got a spare cast front wheel as a temp.

Sure looks funny with one of each.

On another note. Has anyone bought from Italy via eBay? What sort of duties would I get stung with by HMRC ??

Very common when replacing front tyre..,
The new sticky front tyre picks/lifts up screws/nails etc perfectly to puncture the rear tyre.

TPMS learnt in at least on the new front wheel, no issues there.

I got a slow puncture on my 2015 RT. Fortunately I had a puncture repair kit on my GSA, managed to get it home and fixed it with the kit. I've now bought a puncture repair kit for my RT too. Won't leave home without one. Best accessory I bought for the bikes.
