Fed up with my wireless signal

according to my son....all the gamers use channels 11/12/13 as they seem to work best for them......i find 12 is good for us....;)

I have the same problem. Next-to-nil signal in any room away from the router, and there's no easy cure.

The problem has been discovered to be down to the fact that the house is old (i.e. very, very old) and the bricks in the dividing walls have a high metallic content acting like a shield. The damn place is effectively lead-lined!

lob in some CAT5/6 ethernet cable. much faster, more secure, and more reliable than wireless.

cable and fittings readily available at B&Q :)

I use powerline adaptor for everything except the laptop in our house. Very reliable.

No problem :D

That should be all you need, you'll also need another ethernet cable to go from the old router to the new hub, but i've got one of those kicking about anyway if you haven't got one. You won't need the old modem at all.

Many thanks John!!!
Hopefully all working now!!
Hope you got back ok!

Got back fine, went back vi scampton and kirton, great road and very little traffic.

anything goes wrong / stops working let me know :thumb2
