Feel Angry about this one!

After reading in the Southampton Echo of Liverpool's act of renaming its airport as "Liverpool John Lennon Airport", - my brother-in-law decided to write a letter to the paper, asking if the citizens of Southampton didn't deserve a similar act - and to rename the airport as "Southampton Benny Hill Airport".

He suggested that a bronze statue at the entrance, with the legend: "He drove the fastest milkcart in the west" at the foot.

They published his letter! :blast

What's wrong with "Belfast Ian Paisley Airport"? :nenau That's got a nice ring to it............................ :augie

NEVER! NEVER!NEVER!:augie

And you wanted it named after a road racer? :blast

Unfortunately Stevie Cull has not enjoyed good health the last year or two.
Don't want to go in to the nature of his illness on here, but glad to see the other day that he was back behind his shop counter (mobile phones) in Central Ave, Bangor.
A fast man in his day:thumb2

Super rider. Did he also ride a Suzuki RG500?

I stand to be corrected on this one, but Steven was the first man to lap a Southern Irish motorcycle circuit at more than 100mph when he won the Skerries on a 500 Suzuki on July 4th 1987..............
lapped at 100.04mph....................

The Loughshinny Club’s first Skerries race was on Saturday, July 4, 1987. on a day of blistering sunshine, Steven Cull riding a 500 cc Suzuki marked the occasion by setting a new absolute lap record of 100.04 mph on his way to winning the 15 lap Grand Final. This was the first time a Southern Irish motorcycle circuit had been lapped at over 100 mph.

But anyway a result for the Fat Geese for another year!

Dear Sir/Madam

Victoria Park – Geese Cull

At a public meeting held in Strand Presbyterian Church on Thursday 26 June 2008 the reasons behind the licence application were fully discussed. The representative from George Best City Airport reported to the meeting, through a statement, that having re-assessed the air safety issues they no longer intend to carry out the proposed cull of geese this year.

Yours sincerely

the cull should be extended:mmmm
