When I was looking for a 1200GS, I decided that there was not a colour that I didn't particularly want.

Red is nice.
Yellow too.
I even liked,
the Metallic BLUE.

So I bought the best bike I could find. It's in the aforementioned blue.

Now, I've started to go off the colour. It's a bit bland. SO........ I've decided to buy a beak and tank cover, and get them sprayed. Then my bike will stand out too.

BUT... What colour to go for??

Suggestions are most welcome.
Don't like Black. Metallic purple is just plain daft.

I fancy a non standard colour. As I'm keeping my standard panels, I can easily return it to standard when I sell/trade in for the next bike (whatever that might be) :nenau :nenau :nenau

And if anyone has some 2nd hand panels they want to sell, then let me know.

Thanks.

Kawasaki green..

I'm serious.

Get yer alloys done white..

:beerjug:

Do not, under any circumstances, paint your wheels white. They will (perhaps) look great after a few hours washing and cleaning but 5 miles down the road then forget it. Whoever specified white painted wheels on my Triumph should have been made to kneel down and clean them every day until he realised how stupid he was.

Another vote for a Kawasaki colour but for me it would be the ruby red of the old ZZR1000. I had my ZZR600 redone in that years ago and it was beautiful. Annoyingly can't find a photo

OR

you could use the Ford Orange :augie

Kawasaki used to use a few nice colours, 'burnt orange' looked good but I would change mine to 'Candy Blue' which was the colour of my old ZX9r C1, it's like a metallic version of the Blue in the Rallye suit.

BMW metallic Platinum Bronze,a pale gold-ish colour. Wheels same colour, maybe rocker covers too.

Kawasaki green?? They have so many of them these days.

White?? It's not a bloody dishwasher you know.....

And I would never powder coat wheels white. Black is a more sensible colour for wheels. I know there's no chain lube fling to worry about, but the rear wheel seems to attract dirt like the UK attracts immigrants....

A FORD colour??? Nope.

Maybe British Racing Green.
Or would a Skoal Bandit colour scheme be out of place?? There's not much bodywork to colour though...

Thats got to be Ford Orange...

~I was thinking KTM orange...but seeing this, it looks so sexy made up in Ford Orange...yummy.

Whatever colour you choose, please post a picture

1200 Colour

May I suggest that whatever colour you decide you do the tank panels in the same colour.

Mine is Rock Red and I pondered over it for two years 'til I saw a yellow one with the side panels done, I even tried to find some spare side panels so that I could keep the original black ones (in case I ever sold it). Then when I repainting my Hilux after body surgery I bit the bullet and did them!

My immediate reaction was ......... should have done this in the first place and not messed about..........this is how they should have been! And most other people think likewise including the lads at the dealership!

Colours

I had a K100RS that one of the previous 7 owners had painted a dark green (it was an 'official' BMW colour - for a car I suppose; I added a gold coach line (bought in a roll and stick on.) It really was a very smart looking combination.
