I took my front wheel off today, all by myself and without seeking advice on here. What's more, I put it back on again.

I'll soon be doing such things as checking the oil and inflating the tyres.

I even managed to get my hands moderately dirty enough to look like I knew what I was doing. (Washed them straight away though which probably loses me points)

That is all. Carry on.

I hope you put it back on the right way round :D

Torqued what? It's on good and tight and still goes round.

Tapered things? Didn't spot them.

120 miles done, nothing fell off and the nut holding the axle on is still present.

What's there to worry about?

(That's a rhetorical question. I don't actually want things to worry about)

Did you check yor mudguard adjustment ?

You guys. :bounce1

There were no conical doofers, just spacers (my '81 G/S btw.)

Mud guard adjustment was fine. Using the feeler gauge I was able ascerpertain that there was still plenty of clearance around the rubbery black thing. Even with TKC's on.

The front wheel has taper bearings in, if you look at parts diagram you will see. unless yours has been upgraded to the later spec :blagblah robs probably right and all will be fine.
