Is there anyone with knowledge of or experience with these bars? They are currently advertised on Amazon for a low (delivered) price of GBP 128. This German company has been bending pipe since 1948 and seems to have a quality product but I can't find one single BMW owner review on the product. I am also mystified by the apparent attachment point below the tank - bar bends around then disappears from view in the image.

They look like what I have fitted to mine, they bolt to the frame behind the tank. Mine have a bit of rust and one snapped due to vibration but welded up ok and out of sight. That was by the tank bolt. I have no idea how old they are but I'd buy them again.

Couple of mates had them on Triumph Tigers and they were decent quality and reasonably cheap plus they lasted well

Thats interesting because the failure you experienced could have been caused by the long run of tube between the anchorage points bash plate and frame. Do the bars give you much tank protection?

Yeah probably a bit especially on the bend, I think the cylinder heads would stop the majority but from memory there is a good gap between the bars and tank.
