Actually, a lot of the BP/Castrol oil R & D is done at the BP Saltend plant using the test engines and dynos there.
Incidentally, windychufup why do you think that research is done at HQ level ?. Usually at these locations you will not see any "dirty work" going on.

I never said any R&D work was done at HQ. I have no idea what goes on at Castrol HQ. But I know a lot about what goes on at BP HQ.
Just had my 18,000 mile service and the dealer put in Castrol Power 1 Racing 5W40.
Castrol Power 1 Racing 5W40............... now to be known as liquid gold.
Nope I believe that you will find that liquid gold is actually cheaper per litre !

Incidentally, I thought it was 15w-50 for all boxers now.
The LC engine uses different oil to the other boxer engines, defiantly 5w-40!!
