Does anyone have these fitted together? I've heard that the wheel on the GSA is further back than the GS, so will they both fit? It's very close on the GS.

On Nippy Normans site it recommends not to fit a crudcatcher with the Avant Fender Extender as they are likely to foul each other. However, I know someone who has both fitted, and whilst they are close they do not touch. The Avant Fender Extender does protrude quite a bit further back (towards the engine) than the one I have fitted, which I think may be a Wunderlich one, so if I fitted a crudcatcher I think I'd have more clearance.

I intended to fit a crudcatcher to my WC GSA because it did such a good job on my last bike, a TC GSA, even with a fender extender fitted I was getting a lot of muck thrown up onto the front of the engine. The fender extender I have fitted to the WC is much wider than my last one, as is the Avant Fender Extender, and doesn't seem to throw as much crap up, so I'm not sure I'll need a crudcatcher on this bike. I'm waiting to see how much debri collects on the front of the engine before I decide.

Front fender extender fits fine ..... Unless you have the BMW heavy duty sump shield fitted !!

So the fender extender won't fit with the large sump guard, or the crud catcher won't fit with the large sump guard?

Nutty I will post up pictures later of front fender extender. With this fitted you do not need anything else to protect front end.

It's that close that nothing will hit the engine from the front wheel. It will hit the sump guard :thumb2

Thanks Jon, that is close! Do you reckon the larger BMW sump guard will fit with the fender extender?

I don't think they will. I had originally ordered the extended sump guard with a view to fit the crud catcher but it won't work. Front wheel to close.

So you can save a fortune by getting away with just a fender extender :beerjug:

The crud catcher for the new GS/GSA WC is no where near as good as the crud catcher for the older GS/GSA. Even the 'touring version' is not tall enough.

Others may disagree but look at the crap that ends up on the engine casing

That's good that I'll save some money, but bad that I can't fully protect the front of the bike. If you say that the extender is good enough, I'll go with that.:thumb

Nutty trust me you will not need anything else ;) the extended sump guard is £170 ish and crud catcher £50 ish so £220 in ya bin :beerjug:

You will need the cymarc screen supports as they are excellent. Maybe I could tease you by popping over one day so you can see what I've fitted etc :beerjug:

Ok, cheers Jon. I can't ride at the moment, but the kettles always on if you want to pop over.:thumb
