A bit boring I know but a choice none the less.
I'm currently on Ferodo P both front and rear but am about to do the servo flush and will fit new pads all round at the same time, I have found the Ferodo to be (mostly) perfectly adequate but most of my riding is 2up and often laden with camping gear as well so there's the combined load to take into consideration.

Just wondering if EBC pads are worth paying the little bit extra for or is there not much in it, and does EBC have a faster wear rate on the rotors or is that the compromise for more braking power?
I've not had the bike long enough to have had the opportunity to compare both products but I'm sure that there are others who have ;)

I'm inclined to think that the Ferodos have a bit more bite. £12.80 delivered from MandP's ebay shop - you can't go wrong.

You can go wrong if they're Goldfren.

I can make a huge profit selling Goldfren pads but refuse to sell them with the experience i've had with them over many many years.

I only ever sell what i fit to my own bike, not items i can make maximum profit on.

The price I quoted was for Ferodo Platinum -as per the OP's question - I don't use Goldfren either.

Having just fitted Ferodo Platinums to my 1150, Im just curious about the 'mostly' adequate part? I only changed them as the original pads were 12 years old but refused to wear out.

Only problem I had on my GS was the rear fluid boiling whilst going down the Italian side of Stelvio. Took about 15 miles before it started working again ....eek!

After using many types of pads over the years and several types of HH pads I would avoid use Ferodo, avoid EBC and feck off to Goldfren types... I used EBC HH when they first came out and they were fairly wooden when cold but seemed to wear the discs quicker than the pads... Ferodo seem to give a decent ration of feel, bite and wear... I once used Goldfren rear pads and marvelled at the way they wore out quickly whilst doing the same to the disc...

Sorry Wrigsby1 but your reply doesn't make sense to me.
No after reading it for the fourth time it is starting to come clear.;)

Agreed, made the mistake of trying them on a F650GS and threw them in the bin after 500 miles!

There have a couple of occasions when I've been 2up and loaded with full camping gear when I didn't think that I was going to stop in time (single track roads west coast of Mull, Skye & Black Forest Germany...muppets refusing to pull over coming the other way). But taking into account the combined weight & forward momentum would anything else be any better

I have always used original Brembo pads in my R1150gs and find them a good match for braking vs disc / pad wear.
