Options!

A deal in March sounds good - if it happens.
I just stuck up the link because to DFDS because if you go onto their normal booking webpage there is no facility to get the discounted prices - you MUST use the webpage from the link, then it shows the normal prices in the accomodation lists etc, but shows the discount in the totting up procedure as you select options.
It's only 10% but it helps - and as Gerald says is probably also available by other links.
I haven't booked anything yet for 2013 - just checking/planning so far.

Yep.
I got an email from them saying as a 'valued customer' (used them for the last 8-9 years since Rosyth Ferry stopped) I could book and get 10% off and a free breakfast for each person.
Whoop de Doo...
Still, suppose its better than 10% but not by much. This year were going to France so taking the Tunnel.
Last year they were offering the ferry fortnight discount but only on the outward leg.
One of the stalwarts on here kicked up a stink and sure enough, after a day or so when you used the Ferry Fortnight web link it was applied to both journeys.
Might be worth a search on here.

Typical makem, whats wrang with alcoholic banter & a bit of high spirits to start your trip away then :augie

Like yourself, you sick puppy, the Germans and Dutch use the Hull ferry because they love the ladyboys caberet onboard.

Ferry

Coming from the Moray Firth in the North of Scotland I prefer riding down to Hull for the ferry, not because of the quality of the food or people on board, it's just the ride through Holland, it's a ball breaker! Find it better to arrive in Brugge and then honk it down the road. If anyone got deals for the Hull ferry let us all know.:beerjug:

DFDS can be full of stag and hen parties if you travel on the Friday or Saturday crossing. Pick a crossing any other time, especially Mon to Thursday, and its much quieter and also cheaper.

Never had any trouble on the Newcastle boat - but always go on a Wednesday and back on a Saturday. Done that the last 5 years I think.
To be fair Ronno found the opposite on his recent trip.
Newcastle seems more than far enough to go before escaping England...:D

Anyway this year out of the frying pan and into the fire with a run to the Tunnel. :flag

Never had ony trouble on the Shields boat. Full of Germans last time out coming from Thunder in the Glens. Sometimes full of Benefit wallas though.:beerjug:One of my first cousins lives in Sunderland and I have to keep apologising to folk about it.
