To watch the Enduro GP of Wales - World Championship at Rhayader

Last week spent 5 days based at Hotel Metropole in Llandrindod Wells at a bargain price of £79/night sharing a twin room for Dinner B&B

Hotel is good and has a pool & spa too

Frequented by many motorcycle riders, touring the areas and classic car clubs for tours and some of the race teams were staying there too, made for an eclectic week

We took our enduro bikes in vans and did 3 days trail riding in the Welsh hills beforehand and then watched the racing for 2 days

Hot was the order of the week and it was dry and dusty - never seen dust like it !!

Llandrindod houses the National cycle museum in a lovely art deco building and whilst only open at weekends, there was a nice Moulton in the window


Who thought you could get an authentic Tarta del Santiago in deepest Wales ?
Excellent it was and Bradley’s bistro is worth a visit

I was there as well …. Rode strata and round the dam plus some other bits … then watched the enduro event at both venues . Garcia was with his mates in the Lamb and Flag Saturday night until 10.15 .. then rode the fastest lap at 1.40 on Sunday it’s hard to comprehend how fast these boys ride …. You’re definitely close to the action that’s for sure … handlebars passing by so close I could have touched them

If I had known you were there we could have hooked up
I was talking to Knighter on Thursday afternoon in the Lamb & Flag, about his new berth on the factory Ducati team
Ivan Cervantes - the Dakar rider and Fantic team manager was staying in our hotel-weird queuing up with him for the coffee machine at breakfast
The satellite Husky KR69 team were there too, at the Metropole
Racing was great and Garcia on the factory KTM was just blistering for a 250
All in all, a great time if you’re a dirt rider - watching the racing and then riding some trails yourself
But the dust at Saintswell was something else

Met these 3 on Strata …. They bought the bikes with a budget of £500 off of marketplace .. rode from Bromsgrove to Wales … camped rode strata on Saturday then rode them home … it looked really hard going for them tbh but fair play .. the guy with the SR 125 only got his bike Thursday

£79 each I reckon based on their normal rates

Twin room sharing and their DBB special room rate and a bottle of house wine on first night

It was £780 divided by 2 persons,so £390 and divided by 5 nights

Works out at £78/night each
