Chaps ive just came to the end of doing the valve adjustments which where all out Btw... ive come to the last adjusting nut and it won't tighten up it just seems to spin round ....

It feels like the threads have gone on either the bolt or the nut....WTF am i fooked or can this nut be replaced.....

Its going to the garage tomorrow to get the throttle bodies adjusted but i cant chance riding it.....

Help:eek:

Bloody hell phew cheers bud... how fookin annoying it that last bloody adjustment...

Well ill have to get the garage to sort it.....

Thanks for the link mike.. ill get it fer spares

As above - gentle tightening with your most delicate little 10mm spanner and fingertips. Literally just your thumb and forefinger will provide more than enough leverage to tighten the locknuts.

Yes,for years I did mine by feel. Then one day I thought I'd use a torque wrench. Unfortunately for some reason I'd typed in the wrong setting on the service data sheet I keep in the garage. Result: one stripped thread. There's probably a moral there somewhere......

By the way, I wasn't able to just unscrew the original knackered adjuster having uncscrewed the locknut. I had to remove the rocker arm to screw it in from the other side. Needless to say, I haven't used a torque wrench for doing the valves since.

Hey Trullion

Yep that what's been done to repair them. Looking through the Haynes manual and a particular you tube thread they did it using 8nm torq, its not scarred me off doing it my self in future, lesson learnt. scary though if you don't know your own strength.....:barf
