Just over a month to go.
We are getting ready now for friends old and new.
We've been doing a lot of work to ensure another excellent event
The covered patio is being extended to give more shade from the hot sun. Unfortunately my elderly builder has decided that 43° heat is too hot to work in so the finishing touches have been delayed a bit. He assures me it will be finished on time.

The swimming pool is now sorted after it sprung a leak. We spent a lot of time and money before we got it all fixed.

The air conditioning in the house is also finally sorted so it is nice and cool inside.

My bikes are all running perfectly so the R1100GS and the R100GS are available for anyone who doesn't have their own bike.
The quad is ready to go but I'm banned from riding it after my incident last year.

It's never too late to decide to join us. Obviously we like to have an idea of numbers in advance for the food and drink but we can always welcome last minute arrivals.

Any questions then ask away.

I should be there Thursday, Sid and Ann, with Janet too .
Gettin exited now.
Good news you won't need to organise a search party, mind you with the last photo fit you did, I doubt anyone could find me

Sid and Mrs. Sid (Ann)

I hope the party goes really well, I'm booked to be in Northern Germany and hope to catch up at some point... when my world calms down a tiny bit....

all the best

Soph and I are really looking forward to seeing you all again. Heading down through Switzerland and southern French Alps and should be there Thursday/Friday morning.

Hopefully Soph has a room as she’ll be sick of my snoring by the time we get there 😂
Sadly no late runs to Maccys this year for grinchshakes :(

new bike and the bloody dates didnt tie up

For all those concerned about the fires near here, we are OK for now. The strong winds are blowing smoke towards us but no fires. Obviously things can change ge at short notice but I'll keep everyone updated.
Whatever happens I'll have to impose a strict no smoking policy. If you are desperate for a fag, you can row out to the middle of the lake and smoke there.

You’re gonna need a bigger boat 😂

Wot, no home smoked salmon?

Or hot smoked lamb

@pinklady what are we going to do?

Mind you it saves me slaving over a hot barbecue 🤣

Sumpy

Thank you for the update.

The fires are indeed horrendous. A non-smoking strategy is only reasonable under the circumstances.

@Wapping
Richard, could you sanity check my MRA route, as I'm still a novice with MRA

Calais to Sid's

It looks OK, Neil.

Just a couple of comments.

1. I guess your move into the service area is deliberate:

2. It’s only me being fussy but I always try to ensure that all shaping points are placed well away from junctions, not placed on roundabouts and not situated on or under bridges. You might like to drag these ones and move them a little:

Cheers Richard.
Some of the shaping points are MRA. I'll have another check through, and adjust as necessary

I guessed as much. If you used the very good ‘expand’ function, MyRoute sometimes places the additional points in not so great places. This can become a real problem if the route is then exported to say, a Garmin device, as it picks up the poorly placed point and routes to it.

Check and check again, is my motto.

Just as well I checked.
I put Sid's address in, and it was in the wrong place.
So I've adjusted the end point to suit
