Final drive broken in Warrington :(

Travelling back from my two week Scotland's trip final drive bearing failed the same way like last year when I was in Wales. I am currently at campsite in Warrington, Cheshire. Any ideas for transporting the bike to Hull for a ferry (to Belgium) or repairing somehow would be extremely appreciated.

it must be the day for final drives to go, mine went earlier, and ironically im supposed to be heading to Belgium in 2 weeks time.

I am 25 miles south of Warrington between Crewe & Nantwich and I could collect you and the bike tomorrow or Tuesday after work and provide a garage with tools and a bike lift. There is no way I could fix the bike though as I just dont have the skills.Sorry.

Here is another suggestion.

I would definitely recommend Roy Gardner independent BMW specialist and he may be able to collect the bike for you. It just depends what he already has booked in .

Have got a 1150 non-ABS final drive that will get you home- the bearing is rough and makes a noise, but it should get you home. You will have to drive the paralever bearings out of your old one (easy with the right socket) got all tools and not up to much tomorrow if you are in a hurry.

I was a muppet earlier.....I copied this over from the 850/1100/1150 section to this areas section so it would be seen by the locals quicker....So there may be two sets of info going on .I haven't checked back on the original yet .....

Best bet might be for people to contact our man in trouble on his moby to sort help out, in case he doesn't see this thread here and thinks everyone's ignoring his original one

Sounds good, if you need to get bike over there I have a trailor and am free tomorrow AM.

If you just want to get to hull, I could take you if you could cover the fuel.I am about 15 minutes from warrington.
