hi guys i am in the process of replacing the input seal on the final drive on my rockster.
bmw or motorworks do the seal for about nine quid ,but as the genuine seals dont seam to be up to the job is there a better seal to use that others have used to be successful .
many thanks ian

Replace the compression ring as well. It helps.
Part number 33 11 7 701 691

Pekka

The seal itself is not the problem, it's the threads on the seal-carrier that weeps.
Give it a smear of sealant and all is good.

Later models (1200??) have an O-ring fitted.

And Pekkavee is right, new seal and new compression seal is mandatory. :D

Paul.

I've done a picture "how to" / it might be in the font of all wisdom section.
