Final drive rebuild needed asap

Hi can anyone help me out here i need my final drive rebuilding asap. just wondering if there was anyone local who can do it and turn around in a week. or advising me on how hard a job it actually is. Thanks in advance

I'm in desperate need of a mikeyboy rebuild myself ,the only problem being is that fookin bottom bolt it's absolutely solid I've tried heating it I've even snapped a t55 torx clean in half

You need to get the FD casing around the trunnion to 100 C. Use a proper hot air gun and an IR thermometer.

Its all too easy to use a Torx bit that's one size too small. Now, I always check the next size up wont fit before leaning on the spanner handle

A 2ft long breaker bar comes on handy as well.

If it still wont budge send the FD and swing arm to Mike.

Mikeyboy' advice to me hear it up! with a heat gun underneath with the gun pointing upwards the whole thing wants to get to about 100'c best if you can get a mate to help you.one to hold the spanner the other with the ratchet yeah it's tight fook off tight in fact but it comes out
You just need to eat your greens and be big un strong
After that pack it off give it to the FD God
Once sorted refit

Got the torx head side of the bolt out in the end ,only problem I've got now is the other half is solid can't budge it .
I'm going to try and find a 50mm longer bolt than the torx one screw it in and then thrash it .

A few words with the fd messiah and I had it out in a nackynoo, all the heat has shagged the bearing on the nut side but hey ho .
It'll be Posted off to the messiah in the morning happy days

If the paint is failing, Mike can get it powder coated. Also check the spindle tube as that might need the same. More delays however but...

For an 08 35k unit it's in pretty good nick and the tube is like the day came out the factory ,at bike 4 life on Sunday I was looking at a 14 plate rt and said spindle tube was corrode as feck
