Heading North to have yet another go at the Stelvio,

Stelvio was a bit cooler,

and I had to fill up at Samnaun,

Next stop was Lermoos where we have also stayed on previous years,with a fine view if the Zugspitze,

Next stop was Bernkastel Kues,

Last leg to Rotterdam Europoort,

I was that man, at the time you just deal with it but later watching the film-especially in slow motion-I needed a stiff drink or three. On a serious note I think having done a bit of advanced training saved the day. Somewhere in what passes for a brain was the knowledge that the bike really will turn quickly if required. On the original film soundtrack you can hear what I think is my front tyre protesting at the speed of the turn.

I had one hell of a bruise where the tractor hit my leg but that was it. The other rider hit was more freaked out, I think because he had no warning-first thing he knew he and the GS were taking flying lessons. Thankfully the GS was still ridable. The Harley rider was also lucky to escape with 2 broken ribs and a bit of gravel rash. Our local police could not believe there luck either when I gave them the film as evidence.

It's a reminder that there are risks attached to motorcycling but as I tell boring people who warn me of the accident statistics for motorcycling. The majority of deaths occur in bed-are you going to stop going to bed to avoid this risk?

Never planned owts in my life, just pack and go.
This year was an exception as I booked the hotel in Malta, Austria as I wanted to go see the harleys.
