Finally ridden it

Up to 500 miles now as today was beautiful round this area. This bike just gets better and better was able to push harder ( well within the 5 k , but you can keep a good constant high speed and hold it on corners, the new Nexts seem good but worry as only a few mm left on the edges and and I’m not pushing hard yet . But again wow what a set up . Blown away with it it’s a fantastic machine .
Only thing missing is a 17 inch front and 250 ltr tank ……. And 199 bhp

Oh God dont mention the tank and wheels .......you'll get befriended by a chat bot......

It must take the shine off having the bike if it’s already faulty and not usable.

Just a bit however it wasn’t purchased for personal use, rather work but jeez I’ve gotta admit what a fekkin bike,

I was gonna sell it after about three months but unlike most of my wives, this one’s a keeper

Blimey and I hope the replacements aren't made of cheese!!

Means you both - I have this conspiracy theory that when BMW say to suppliers “we want 20,000 of your brake pads and we will only pay ‘this much’ for them” I think the suppliers build to that price and we end up with lesser quality OEM gear on the bike.

I also think they do this with tyres too!

This definitely happens in most industries, for sure. You pay for it somewhere.

Glad you guys are enjoying your new bikes. I had a test ride a few weeks ago, but it was only last June I changed from having a TC for 10 years to a 1250 GSA it would not make sense for me to change just yet. I hope, Mark, that your issue is sorted and that will be the end of any issues.

Looking forward to more updates on your experiences.

Thanks fella - I’ll possibly post what may happen on the brakes etc with the hope that I don’t bore too many of the lads.

Ride safe geeza!

Stick only a few mm left on the edges of the MTN2 after 500 miles…? Yes lean the thing over all I see is chicken strips 🤣
Gossy since you have bags & top case please 🙏 do us as favor and take her the beans and take her up to top speed or not to see if she still wobbles or finally holds still 😉 !?

Yep there was an investigative article in a bike mag which concluded that the tyres fitted to new machines consistently lasted for fewer miles than their 'identical' replacements bought from traditional channels. I don't remember the issue being the composition changing, it was to do with the tread depth.

Mark.....Suzuki X7 in the background? (Hen's teeth) thought most ended up in the farmers field in the first bend at Carnaby! LOL

TD.
Pretty, isn't it? I see the original chromed mudguard didn't quite survive the ravages of the years (mine lasted about 18 months...).

Yes Ryan F9 did a test, the tyres supplied with the bike (supposedly from new) had around 3mm less tread than direct from the tyre manufacturer .

It's no different to printer manufacturers, who now only give tiny print cartridges with there printers

But given the printers are virtually given away, they have to cover costs somewhere .

Just had mine serviced along with my mate who we ride together , both have only 2mm left on the rear pads , service say they have raised an issue with BM Germany so see what happens .
Have to go back to pick up the dealers to collect new pads . This was found at 600 miles after a run in with rain , floods , wind . Glad it was not in the summer as they would only have made 300 miles lol...
