..and bought a grey 1190 Adventure with all the bells and whistles.

P&H in Crawley were clearing some 2014 model year bikes (I gather they're identical to 2015 bikes bar some minor graphics changes) so I've got a 15 plate 1190 with electronics pack, skid plate, full luggage, crash bars, pannier liners and a GPS mount for £12800

Can't wait to pick it up and should be a hoot for our spin to the Alps in June.

In the meantime I just need to wait for my collarbone to heal up.... :(

There are still some good deals to be had .... I wouldn't buy a 15 model year over a 14 when the price difference is £2500

I'm upgrading from an '04 GS so hoping to notice the difference.

It's got this strange chain link affair on the back of it though. What do I do with that.....?

p.s. I think they've still got two orange ones and an -R with the same deal in stock....

The 1190 really is an awesom machine and, given the price of the BMW competition, unbeatable value for money. Compared to an 04 GS the 1190 is going to put a huge smile on your face. Be careful of the collar bone injury however as the Orange bike will feel like it's pulling your arms off :drool

Enjoy

Can't wait... Couple of questions...

Does anybody have a European dealers POI file I could stick in my Zumo? We're off to to the RDGA in France in June and as it's going to be pretty new it would be nice to have the dealers list.. I can stick them in myself but just wondered if there was one handy anywhere?

And do I need to be concerned about this air filter malarkey? I'm VERY unlikely to be going any more off-road than campsite access roads. I've had it suggested that 2014 models had some improvement to the air filter setup, and I believe that has changed again for 2015 model year bikes. And then some guys have been saying theirs has come with the DNA filter already installed?

And never having had a chain to worry about before  is it worth installing a scotoiler, or just stick it on the centre stand and take a can of spray lube with me?
