Did a couple of hundred miles yesterday and noticed that the rear Deathwing is finally shagged :clap

Thank god for that :spitfire New Tourances tomorrow front and back  . Finally I can begin enjoying the sure footed handling that the GS is famed for

Let this be a warning to everyone - NEVER FIT TRAILWINGS TO AN 1150 GSA  they tried to sell me some Battlewings  but after the Deathwings I'm never going near Bridgestones again :nono

They must have been shite to slide with that much weight on them.... :D

Anyway, ya tight arse, if they were that crap, why did you wait until they were worn out before changing them :nenau

My GSA came with them fitted, but I had them replaced with Tourances before I took delivery of the bike, then sold the Deathwings tyres on here :clap

Believe it or not, but some people really like them!

I've recently put on a Battlewing rear with a BT020 front. I couldn't honestly say anything bad about them at all (so far), but I find that it's only when a tyre is half worn that you can sort out the good from the bad. Fingers crossed with the Battlewings. :mmmm

I left them on because I wondered if they were going to get better as they wore in, instead I wore them out :o As for sliding with all the weight on, doesn't that make me look like a Dakar God :nenau :D

Funny that, mine came fitted with Trailwings from new and I never had any problem with them. In fact I'm probably more confident on the GS than on any other bike I've ridden, both in the wet & dry. They've got 6,500 miles on them now and they're as good as ever, and they look as if they'll be good for another 1500 miles or so...

I'm not the slowest rider on the roads, but not the fastest either (that last 1/4 inch chicken strip refuses to disappear :o )

Even so, I'm going to try Tourances next - all those 1000s of GSers can't be wrong! :)

I think that 'riding styles' might come into the equation here Steve. I've only had my Deathwings for 5000 miles and they are right on the wear limit

I find they slide on the exit from corners, especially under full power :D and they are completely lethal in the wet :eek

Well, yeah, but surely any semi-knobbly tyre's going to slide if you put full power on while you're cranked over??

In the wet they do seem ok to me, while my sportsbike riding mates are wobbling along behind, scared to touch the throttle.. :D

I have Deathwings as std. on my Strom and they are really crap - i have had a slide or two but maybe it's because of the incredible Strom HP ? :o

If you're still after an Enduro tyre as an alternative to Tourances, which I find to be far too hard a compound, why not try some Pirelli MT90 Scorpions... got mine ordered today... and looking forward to giving them a real pasting in the Picos at the end of June... :D

Ask Otterboy (Tarka) for his opinion.... :thumb

:nono for that you must have been in Dakar on an F650GS :D on Michelin Deserts!! You naughty boy!! :duck:

Well the Tourances are well and truly scrubbed in now (the run out for the West Midlands Wobble dealt with that) and I can report that the bike is truly transformed.

Transition from upright is far easier with less of a drop in effect and the grip over changing road surfaces is incredible. Best of all there is no squirm over gravel in the centre of country lanes. I hit some stuff that would have had me off on the deathwings but there wasn't so much as a wriggle - brilliant :clap :clap :clap :clap

Didn't notice crap handling with trailwings, but I am a God

Trailwing 7,000 miles, Tourance 12,500 miles :clap :bounce1 :D Does it for me :)

You are naturally assuming that I refer to track God :D But I'm really the God of Lurve  Contradict that one then.................. I dare you :ymca
