Well after some searching eventually got myself an XCountry

Rode it home 160 miles and never missed a beat

Will spend the next 3-4 weeks getting it sorted

I agree but you will have to upgrade the headlight to led to warrant £9k

Would the op take £8500 for a quick sale !

So I have just this morning upgraded the headlight to LED but will take your £8.5K for a quick sale and include it FOC ;-

Happy motoring, where are they kept to look this good? The screen has to go! Cheers Josey

So first job was to sort out the exhaust . It seemed very loud and was popping and banging . Turned out the manifold was not quite seated properly and one of the central exhaust clamps was slightly loose . So removal of the rusted exhaust manifold studs and replacement with new stainless steel ones with copper nuts was called for , plus whilst I was there a good machine polish of the header . Looks and sounds much better now . Removed the front panels and air box and checked the valve clearances , all OK , fitted new Iridium Spark plugs and a K&N Air filter . Wired in the AF-XIED unit and did a full Adaptions re-set with the GS-911 . Next job , remove the swinging arm and check the bearings and seals .....then a few hours out riding after lunch ;-)

Nearly finished sorting out the XCountry . All mechanical items checked with various bearings and seals renewed along with a new modified later type clutch cover . New HyperPro rear shock , front forks rebuilt , chain and sprockets and tyres all replaced . Fitted a new seat and had a lot of the parts satin black powder coated . Brakes fully stripped and rebuilt with new seals . Fitted some new bling - heated grips , SATNAV mount , LED headlamp upgrade along with LED indicators , various guards , newer type mirrors , fender extender . It all just about ready for my eldest son to use for our upcoming trip to Ireland .

How do you get them so clean? After my ride the other day I have spent about 8 hours TRYING to clean mine...I can't even get the wheels clean again.
