Finding out about RT2014 features

Another couple of niggles. The made the new dash so you can adjust its angle to prevent glare off it but why not do the same for the SatNav? I've adjusted the angle on mine by shimming it out but.......
Why, on the non audio equipped model, don't we get the second lockable storage space on the right hand side?

THat was the first thing i noticed .i have the audio model so the second lockable box is there, however its got a lead in so its tight to get something in

im sure most riders will order this box and replace the std non box ..but as you say why not just pop one in there as opposed to a plastic cover

Test rode one today for a couple of hours and got these impressions:

1. Unbelievable difference, its not like riding the same bike.
2. Hill start really useful
3. power amazing, I hated the ride home on mine
4. side stand tricky to put down on first attempt
5. didn't get the hang of this new gear change concept?
6. twist grips too small diameter
7. computer easy to manage by sheer logic
8. much more versatile gear ranges, eg started in 2nd no problem, 30mph in 3rd no problem at low revs.
9. very clunky gear change - but liked it.
10. Michelin PR4's seemed a bit hard for me and I thought that bends needed more oomph to get round but dealer said its the geometry not the tyres. Dealer had them set much lower than 36/42 so that would feel even harder. [This must be their opinion because my new RP3's which were fitted today on my 2012 RT were 2.2/2.5bar out of the workshop]
11. boxes seemed a bit large, but like the central locking
12. good wind protection
13. pathetic glove-boxes
14. rain mode seemed OK but not life changing
15. tried to connect my scada BT but with only one try gave up.
16. very fierce clutch compared to mine.

On balance a very positive experience and likely it will be my next bike. Not sure which colour, test bike was black.

A thing that I have suffered with over the years is the dreaded WFS or White Finger Syndrome. When I had my GS I bought a pair of Grip Puppies but these didn't make a great deal of difference. With my last RT it wasn't too bad and I was hoping that the new RT would be better at smoothing out the bar tingles. Unfortunately I've not found an improvement but maybe when the engine is bedded in it will be better. In the meantime, has anyone got any suggestions to improve it? I was thinking about different bar ends - heavier but not too sure if this will make much difference?

Lead shot (available at any gunsmith/country store I think) or sand in the bars has been recommended for that here before....no experience of it myself though

Hmmmmmm.....are they cast alumiunium bars though?

One of the guys put large "O"rings on his bars on a 1200GS when he found a problem.....can't remember if it was white finger syndrome though, but it seemed to help....or how about tennis racket handle binding?
