Finding streets?

Another glitch since my update.

A number of times, I've tried finding a road on the mapsource address facility. The street is on the list, but when I try to 'find', I get 'this street is not available on this product.'

When I go to the map, I can find the product manually and the street is labelled correctly.

You try Canal Street in Leeds and Kirklands Close in Baildon. They are there, but my mapsource search doesn't see them. I've resorted to Bing maps and cross matching to locate a street.

Are you searching under United Kingdom or England in the country box? Use England.

Canal Street, Leeds is there a little way down the results list.

For Kirklands Close just enter Kirklands for the street, find Kirklands Close in the list and then select that. Now click the 'Find' button, Kirklands Close, Charlestown is second on the list. This is on the edge of Baildon but you probably already know that

The find function in Mapsource is pretty carp to be honest. With a little experience it can be made to work in most cases though.

Unable to find even the street name

Happened to me numerous times - looking for an address and unable to find the street in the list since the Mapsourse is "suggesting" streets from everywhere else just not from where should be. When I try to put in the postcode, it does not allow me to as this smartass function prevents you typing postcode of your choice.

Maybe this question was asked many times before, but is there something better for route planning than Mapsource. I find the software quite poor.
But honestly, I like it more then before after reading some tutorials on this site.
