After completing the HID kit on my 1150GS thought the side light looked a bit dim.
So started looking through the mass of auto light shops on the web
and found this it's a 12v -1w LED Sidelight pure white :thumb
It's also the same fitment as the standard bulb ( T4W ) Type
So fits straight in the original bulb holder no messing.
The LED bulb dose give the side light that xenon white look now to match
the HID Conversion.
Don't think this type of bulb was intended for road use but :nenau
Anyway thought i would share it with you all.
If anyone is interested i will forward on the site details
Don't want to be doing any advertising for them.
2 x bulbs cost £12 that inc posting costs :beerjug:

Hope this works it's my first real go!!!! :)

Its NOT advertising - its information sharing. looking at a site and getting details means its much easier to 'shop around' maybe find the same item locally and so save on pstage etc.

I am interested but to save yourself a lot of PM'ing you might as well list where you got them from. As said earlier - it is not advertising just sharing.

I had the same thoughts as you with the sidelight and you have just saved me a lot of hassle looking around.

Looks good. :thumb2 It's one trhing I noticed after changing to HID's just how crap that wee sidelight is.

But will it bring up a lamp fail warning on the canbus 12GS system ?

Get your arse back to the 1200 section with yer canbus and leave the riders with fuseboxes to it will ya!! :augie

Worth mentioning Nick Marshall of this very parish has a supply of these very bulbs (well he did have when I ordered one a couple of weeks ago for the pricely sum of £4.50.

One thing to be careful of is some of these LED bulbs are focused to project light straight ahead so you can't see them from any other angle.

Definetly look brilliant with HIDS fitted :thumb2

Point taken guy's

Heres the Link to the site I used[URL="http://www.phoenixautobulbs.co.uk/ignition-super-bright-233-led-sidelight-bulbs-pure-white-p-243
Looking on the site there is a LED resistor for vehicles with bulb warning systems this might be what you need Davy.

Hope it helps anyone thinking of changing the side light.

Not quite worked it out yet :thumb2

Fitted mine today and they do complete the HID package nicely. Thanks for the info. :thumb

I've ordered a couple of the LED sidelight bulbs from Phoenix for the car. I'll try one on the GS to see if it works and go from there.

The LED bulbs arrived from Phoenix promptly (good service) and I tried one in the GS before fitting them to the car. It brought up the bulb fail warning, so it looks like I need one with a resistor built in for the GS. BTW, the difference on the car is very pleasing. :thumb2

Anyone go

Anyone got any of these sidelight bulbs lying around they want to pass on? :augie

Don't they come in packs of two? :augie:augie:augie:augie
