Well! after your first off road outing , what do you think?

Apart frOm the fear of killing it!!
Got to say apart frOm the idiot riding it better speed from me when shes moving really good too slow and that hight bit catches you out a little! Im 6ft and the seat has gel pads so about 1 inch higher than standard sO not the best idea anyway rushys promised to go in the loft and find his old spare so i can butcher it to a plank.
Apart from spending a little time getting used to it really happy!!
Off to do the big bike rally training in a couple of weeks so will see if im still as happy with it then!

Dont know what front sprocket your using? i run a 13 tooth, far better than using a 14 0r 15 tooth, good engine braking without stalling on realy steep decents.

Gona finish the summer and change chain and sprocket dont need top end ao may well try 13 thanks

If the rad fins are full of shit, common problem it will have a tendancy, however i have done trips to southern france and portugal and it never boiled, Timpo did liase with a company who designed a larger more efficent fan/rad , about £350 if i recall.

This i the exact problem i had with mine. It was ok trail riding here in blighty, but riding down and doing the HUMM, i spent most of the first day in the local bmw dealers while they tried to resolve the problem*

I've now got the Pace radiator fitted- no problems at all, it just needs a few easy miles to warm it up.

* when the engine over heated, it over heated the rectified (fitted to the side of the block), this stopped the battery charging, meaning i couldn't start the bike :blast

All nice and clean after last nights playing however put an adjustable gear lever on and lost a bolt last night and bodged a repair but just seen the casing nice

Just a few thoughts after a few rides
Need a second seat to butcher to a plank ( rushy) although ok needs a few more psi in the rear
2 nd gear is fab for 90% of trails rather be high revs in 2nd and found the powerband in 2nd last night

Sidestands better than ktm but only just

Mooses are fab

Managed to let it fall over twice whilst cleaning it and the throttle seems stiff and wont return unless forced any ideas anyone?

Apart from that loving it

check the tube/grip and the handguard, make sure there is a gap and not binding there

Yep slacken the handguard and adjust, to fix the stiff throttle

As for the TT Gear lever, take it off and throw it in the bin - utter crap (and I guess the tape didn't do anything...lol:augie)

If that's nice and clean, then i'm a blindman:augie:blast

Just use a steel gear lever from a F650GS/Dakar is all you need (to protect the shaft) and all else is overkill............Ebay for a fiver

Now................that's a clean XChallenge:thumb

moving on

having found the shock limit at the weekend decided to get something half decent so have ordered a wilbers:D

Going to get Vern to enforce the frame just in case as well and have some small engine bars to put on to protect the cases anyway.

New chain and sprockets 13/49 on order as well as finding an x moto seat so much lower than the one that came with the bike which I've managed to tear anyway:confused:

and then finally i might be finished:blast

New seat arrived and about an inch lower than this repacked tony archer one

So anyone interested in a comfort seat? £80 some nocks and a little tear as seen £20 to be repaired from local man
