Finished my x

Just use a steel gear lever from a F650GS/Dakar is all you need (to protect the shaft) and all else is overkill............Ebay for a fiver

Really... a fiver? Have you a link?

having found the shock limit at the weekend decided to get something half decent so have ordered a wilbers:D

and then finally i might be finished:blast

Any reason you chose the wilbers over the likes of ohlins or hyperpro?

Currently looking at changing my rear shock, and the wilbers has come recommended from the guys on the rally moto forum.

As for finished? Have you started looking at sorting the front suspension yet? :augie

Moly recommended the wilbers they all seem to run them on their huskys and after talking to rev sport they did too basically the ohlins are much more high maintenance and have to be set up within about 3% of the rider whereas wilbers within 10% and have more range! Thats how it was explained to me £675 fully set up so a little cheaper than ohlins.
Not touched the front the bike turns in so quick and feels good no changes to be made yet. But may play with it when i take it to spain with greg masters in a few weeks!!

From what i hear on ADVrider, the ohlins needs shortening slightly to make the bike function correctly (can you shed any light on this timpo?).

I've ridden a bike with a hyperpro rear shock, and really liked the ride. It is £75 cheaper than the wilbers, but i'm not sure hyperpro have a UK service centre to help with set up. Currently tossing up wether to save, or spend a little extra and have technical assistance a little closer.

When I bought one, the TT version new

It was at least 1-2" too long, when put against the airshock on the bench, so once fitted it made the bike, not only taller by jacking up the rear, but also steepened the headstock making it turn in quicker (on the road testing) and made it really twitchy, so much so I sold it immediately as it needed more work that would have been £100-200

It is designed for Rallye use with probably 50mm forks which may also be longer too to match

I would go Wilbers

remember if you get a hyperpro contact bas first he will custom build it for you, your weight, leg length and riding style/requirements all at the standard price and set the compression and rebound settings, he's also only a phone call away

 how did you know i had white tech 8's?

It's already been used in vengance on some of the welsh rallies moly, in fact it did the red kite when it just had 400 miles on the clock, and had a few good tussles with earthmover from this parish.

I agree, it is a great bike, i just wish bmw hadn't penny pinched when specifying the original suspension

Hopefully make it to the cambrian this year :thumb2
