Sort of in the same vein, but I remember some years ago replacing the diaphram in the carbs on my 100RT with identical ones from the stromberg carbs as fitted to Vauxhall vivas at a fraction of the cost of genuine BM ones. I wonder if anyone does a list of bits that are common to more modern cars. Could save us pensioners a packet..

Diaphrams for bmw - same as fitted to , saabs, rovers and mercs.

Any of those are less than half the price of BM ones .
