Try putting https:// before the mail part. Maybe Firefox isn't redirecting to the secure site like it should.

Fire fox can be overly cautious
It has an ongoing ( Maybe resolved now) row with either Java or flash player about security.

I suppose Firefox don't want the finger pointed at them if it goes pete tong for someone
