I’m just watching a Big Rock Moto vid of them attempting the Nevada BDR and camping out.
One of the guys is using a Firemaple radiant stove which he really rates .
I’m not a camper but do have a Jetboil for using on the beach or making a brew on a trip .
Not seen any mention of this radiant system but thought it might be of interest .

One of the drawbacks with my jet boil is the lack of control over the burner, its perfect for a quick brew but a challenge to set a simmer.

This unit might well address that -Cheers

That's a good find Arsey cheers;; the stove looks like it has a good spread of heat which i would imagine gets rid of the hot spots you normally get when using direct flames; it should give you better cooking control;; top job, (y)

That looks a handy little stove but I bought a new Jetboil not so long ago so I’ll probably leave it for now unless I see one in a camping shop and need some retail therapy :D

From the video and picture, I can’t see that the heat can be adjusted. It looks to be either on or off.

I have had an MSR Reactor with radiant burner for about a decade now.

Totally silent, runs consistently in any temperature, runs 100% on a near empty cannister, and amazing as a heater to warm up a tent.
Can be a bastard to light, and now priced itself out of the market.

Isn’t that just a simple ‘Flow / no flow’ tap, rather than controlling the volume (I guess the word is) of gas that flows and, hence, the flame?
Maybe so Richard i maybe thinking wrong. i thought if you control the flow of gas you control the heat, at least it is how it works on my stoves.

That looks a good compromise between a Jetboil and my MSR Reactor. :thumb2
Yup, similar weight and capacity to my Jetboil but burner efficiency of the Reactor. The only thing it doesn't have is an ignitor but I always have a one with me so not bothered

“or making a brew on a trip” … I can just see it there bubbling away on the centre console …

I never trusted those Piezo igniters as an only source of ignition.

You are costing me some dosh in the last month.
Just ordered a red one for £129.95.

... just to keep my Jetboil and Reactor happy! :blast

I’ve had a Windburner for years now. Superb bit of kit and very frugal on gas because hardly any heat is wasted. :thumb I use it a lot while I’m out on the emtb too. IMG_2487.jpegIMG_2381.jpegIMG_2305.jpeg

Mine comes tomorrow!

Went back to a Jetboil this year when someone on here put up a link for somewhere knocking them out for £80 :blast
Still have my original from about 2008, but it is now retired, and a bit of a Triggers broom to be honest.
Anyway, Jetboils are great, but a bit crap in the cold and wind. Mine will now be stowed in the underseat compartment in the T6.

I think my Reactor was £100 delivered, and in hindsight wished I had gone for the big pot version for another £20.
The 1.7l pot alone is £110 .... but just looking they seem to have 40% off these at present ...

Not too sure I'll be able to resist this? :blast

The Holy Trinity of personal cooking systems ...

As predicted it is a hybrid of the Jetboil and Reactor.

Really nice, but the radiant burner on the Reactor is a third bigger and on another level.
Jetboil a bit outclassed, but still holds it's own if bought at the right price.
Reactor more refined and sturdy, but more of a cooker than a kettle.

All in all I'm very happy so far with the Windburner.
Not used in any wind yet, but runs perfectly on a cannister running on fumes.
