A couple of questions for the learned amongst us :augie

I've seen posts about open fires on here and elsewhere. What exactly is the score with them ? Okay, in forests - no fires (bit of a no-brainer there :blast). Out on the plain, in the hills away from the forest, is it forbidden to build a wee fire to grill the fishy you caught for tea ? Common sense obviously should prevail, but can anyone tell me what the hard and fast rules are regarding this, please.

We're traveling on the Harwich / Esberg and Ijmuiden / Newcastle ferries. Will we need to take tie-downs with us or will they be provided ?

Can I leave my gun at home ? Or should I take it just in case we meet some bear up there and need to defend ourselves ? What defense against bunny boilers is recommended :nenau

TIA :thumb

Not sure about the exact rules for fires but i cant see any problem if you just make a ring of stones to stop it spreading,

All the ferrys i´ve been on have provided good rachet straps for the bikes,

As for the bunny boilers you can always use your saucepan for self defense !

Always go prepare....

so it's long straps, a couple of cooking pots, some dried meat to start the soup with and a portable cannon/ door opener just incase you find trouble:thumb2
