Inspired by some of the ride reports on here I took the A46 and M4 then M5 up to Cheltenham from Bath this morning. Crossed over to Hay on Wye. Then I utilised one of the GSA's best features. CURVY Roads on the Nav. I wound up on a windy single track road on the top of the Brecons and felt on top of the world. Then a meet up in Abergavenny with over 100 bikes. Some pics..

Not had the opportunity to try the curvy roads feature, might try that next weekend.

I've tried it a couple of times and found it hit and miss - some good routes and some not so good (e.g. twisty but lots of 30mph through villages). I guess that's not surprising really. Better to have it than not though so you've always got the option.

Really like Abergavenny, it's a nice run, good people and they do a cracking cuppa. I go North to Oxford, Cheltenham, Ross-on-Wye, Abergavenny and on to Brecon. It's a decent day ride approx. 250 mile round trip, or 270 mile with a detour through the Wye Valley, all A and B roads.

Ditto. Although I avoid Cheltenham and do Stow, Tewkesbury, Ledbury and then cross-country to Abergavenny.

Give me a shout next time you're planning on heading that way if you fancy company and comparing routes :thumb

It would be a great enhancement to be able to change the mode of route calculation whilst riding. Unless it's possible already?

No idea - not tried it. When I'm on the move, I tend to avoid changing anything unless you can do it from the wheel. I'd imagine its a bit fiddly.

Did you go via the B4000? Great road, that.:thumb

I've never been up that road but found it on googlemaps. Is the whole of the B4000 worth a visit i.e. from Newbury up to Highworth?

I head over to Broadway / Tewkesbury a fair bit and just wondering how I can link it into a day ride.

PS - I know your question wasn't aimed at me :augie

The road from Wantage to Lambourn, and all around the Lambourn valley are some of my favourite roads (apart from the ones with the 50 limit!).
