first 2017 Wazzer pics (New'ish GS)

Well all....lets see what tomoz brings at 10am on the Bemmer stand :thumb2

Would love to see a tc system that lets you wheelie. The best one was on the s1000r but still there was control from the ecu holding you back. These systems will not allow a balanced wheelie.

Wish they would fit DTC that would let you just nail the throttle and hoist the wheel up to 45 degrees and hold it there for you till you run out of gears then dynamic ABS which would let you grab the front brake and do rolling stoppies a mile long like a mad kick ass riding god

I'd probably spec that if they did :D

TRACTION CONTROL DTC.
The traction control DTC provides an essential contribution to the high riding dynamics and the exemplary riding safety. Specifically under changing operating conditions, on surfaces presenting less roadholding, and during friction tests, the traction control DTC provides invaluable assistance to the rider.

The BMS-X detects a spinning rear wheel by comparing the front and rear wheel speeds measured by the ABS sensors and analysing the data provided by the sensor box (inclination detector). In this case, the engine controller initiates a corresponding reduction to the drive torque by decreasing the ignition angle, intervening in the injection, and modifying the position of the throttle valve.

Unlike the previous BMW Motorrad ASC systems, the traction control DTC also uses complex sensor clusters to determine the vehicle's inclination and to integrate the findings in the regulation. The traction control DTC operates with settings that are individual to each of the different riding modes for the greatest possible safety over the whole range.

Although the traction control DTC provides invaluable support to the rider and therefore an enormous boost to acceleration safety, it cannot – like ABS – redefine to any degree the constraints posed by the laws of physics. Bad judgement or poor riding can still exceed these constraints, and, in extreme cases, the rider can fall off his machine. However, DTC or dynamic traction control helps the rider to expand the potential of dynamic riding and above all to use this with greater safety. For special requirements, e.g. on the racetrack, DTC (dynamic traction control) can nevertheless be deactivated separately.

Maybe it is revolutionary but on the road I've seldom hit the limits of traction... I guess I'm saying I don't see it as the basis for wanting to upgrade. Maybe some people will.

Plus one ! It's within their capability!

So funny, a bike that looks like it has come from outer space but will be ridden mainly by middle aged men, every new version of these bikes gets more laughable. Ridiculous styling. :D

Dude, WTF??? I am 34......................:eek::tears 1/10

Why are you riding an old mans bike

Because the old mans bike has thrashed many a young buck riding a sportsbike on the twisties and when it comes to a 2000 mile tour with luggage, do you really want an arse up head down bike ?

Not when I'm now 54 absolutely. But when I was 34?? Maybe not.

Lots of comments here about this big old beast beating the sports bikes in the twisties. I quite like the handling of the gs ( but it's an acquired taste). A good guy on a sports bike will always murder most riders on a gs down a twisty road. It is what it is- a do all bike for the people that have seen this and done that.

If you think riding motorcycles is about "beating others in the twisties", you might have gotten it wrong.

That. I have no desire whatsover to own a newer GS/GSA, the vulger bloated pig is now a caricature of the great bikes that preceeded it, and the whole off the peg dealer/aftermarket supplied adventure thing is now just a ridiculous joke. Cant wait for the bubble to burst and some sanity to return.

Totally agree.

What is it about GS riders who go on about beating everything else in the twisties ?
Who cares ? And they're only beating everything as nobody else can pass the 20 stone fat fuck sat on his barge with huge panniers and spotlights on a RTW trip to Tesco !

Today's the day. I can't wait!

:bounce1 :drums:chickendance

Wait for what ? Is today when BMW release the 53rd rehash of the 9T and watch as the lemmings form an orderly queue behind Nutster to purchase the latest must have half painted rust bucket ?
