Right, I'm back online. At the moment I am laising with the Community Resuscitation chaps to arrange things. We (hopefully) intend to aim for either 20th Aug, 3rd or 17th Sept for the session and as soon as I know which of these dates is good I will post here and PM those interested.

DATE CONFIRMED!

Hello all. Will PM those who have said they wish to attend shortly but I have now confirmed the date of the training as Saturday 20th August. The venue will be Fulham in London and one of the London Ambulance Service's Community Resuscitation Officers will be co-running the day with me. Details will follow in the PM including time, address and course program. Thanks to all those who have shown an interest in this. If I get a good turn out I'll repeat the day for those who have missed out this time.

Dear All,

I have just been informed that due to the current security situation it will be necessary to cancel the planned training on Saturday 20th August. Please note that this is not in response to any specific threat, just the ongoing state of things in London. I am as miffed about this as I'm sure you will all be and I can only offer my most sincere apologies for any inconvenience.

Basically the LAS have decided to cancel all Heartstart courses (as well as many others) to enable rooms to be available at all times. They are also a bit tetchy about having non-staff persons on premesis at the moment. I have done everything I can over the last 24 hours to try and sort something out for this date but to no avail. If anyone is able to supply a venue of any sort in or around London on the 20th August myself and my colleague Matt will still be happy to do some training ourselves (I am a qualified IHCD paramedic instructor) although we may not be able to supply much in the way of mannikins, etc. I may even be able to 'borrow' a resusciatation officer from Hammersmith hospital for a couple of hours.

Once again, please accept my apologies for this almighty cock up. I will PM all those who had already confirmed their attendance with this message.

*IT'S BACK ON!!!*

Sorry to arse everyone about but thanks to the magnificent efforts of Unhinged we are back on with a change of venue.

The training will now take place in Chiswick, West London on Saturday 20th August 1000-1200 at a venue that Unhinged has managed to secure for us. There is parking available.

I will now work on putting a package together for the day and am hopeful about securing the services of one of the Resuscitation Officers from Hammersmith Hospital. I will do my best to get mannekins for the day but it may be a little harder to do as this is now being done independently from the London Ambulance Service (please see above posts for details).

Once again I will PM all those who have expressed an interest and if you would be so kind as to PM back to let me know if you can attend I would be grateful.
