First proper big mile trip this year. I done 330 miles, most of it in the pishing rain :( . Went from my bit, up through Glen Coe and Fort William to Spean Bridge, then across to Dalwhinnie and then a quick dash home along the A9.
Heres the pics.

Only seen two other Gsers on the road near Callander. A red and a yellow 1200, was it you?

I nipped into the Fort yesterday morning and lost count of the bikes.
Laggan roads good though innit. ;)

I'm on the nightshift at the moment, got to get the sleeping pattern in order.
I was really impressed by the road from Spean Bridge to the A9. :thumb Does anyone know the name of the loch in my 3rd photo. It was stunning further down the road, but it was too wet to stop again for a photo.

Good pics Yoda

Brings back memories of last year up there.

Where's the other Landy gone?

Sherpa ;)

Most likely Loch Laggan, big loch to your right as you head towards Dalwhinnie.

Forestry Landy

By heck the old girl looks like a coat of paint wouldn't go a miss...

Many years ago when I was starting out playing with landies, a friend of mine told me that she had driven the forestry Land Rover as part of her job for the forestry commission... all that she would say was 'it was a complete pig'.

The Cuthbertson tracked conversion looks a lot better cared for. Apparently is was an easy job to change in the field so to speak... dread to think how!

Alte, as always, is correct.

As Alte says, its the Laggan. Its all part of the system that feeds the Aluminium plant just outside the Fort.
The Spey, feeds the Laggan and the Laggan feeds the Traig and its all tunnelled through the Hills to Meall an t-Suidhe (the hill in front of the ben) and that powers the smelter that makes the Aluminium.
Its all about water catchments and generating power and I find it fascinating. :P
Thats what the pipes are for in the hillside, north of the Fort.
Anyway, it’s a cracking road for the bike. ;)
