Contact BMW, their full contact details are in the other thread(s) where you put forward the same urgent enquiry that is so weighing down upon your mind, precluding a proper concentration on where the MudSlings might be.

It makes no difference to me as I don't have one on order, nor will I, but I am interested to know why the delay. Surely it can't have anything to do with the new '14' registration in March, as that would be daft.:nenau

Re the Mudslings, I have bypassed Nippy Normans, MachineArt Moto and my local MP, and have contacted parliament for a resolution. Will let you know as soon as I receive an answer.:P

We're a third world country so I guess the launch will co-incide with central African republics..... or after.

Local KTM dealer has had two sold 1290 Super Dukes sat in his showroom since early December waiting for delivery to the customers in March

I was told it was to mate with something really strange, to mistyfy Nutty. Seems to have worked, too.

I was informed that the new bikes are released to mate with the new registrations in march .

If that really is true, and BMW are delaying the launch just to have the latest registration plate on the bike, I really do despair.

Is this taking the edge off what should be a time for celebration and feasting amongst the well heeled members of UKGSer? Or does it not really matter very much?

...........180 BHP - ideal bike for riding on our wet/salty/slimy winter roads :augie

The Superduke is a great bike, 180 bhp or not. As 1200 GS WC owners struggle to get to 115 bhp and go to Hilltop in droves on the never ending hunt for more power, they could save themselves a lot of time and effort by trying the KTM.

Or course it might be a bit too orange and lack a bit of presence but at least its gearbox will work. The bike is fun and what else might someone want if it's not fun? Awesome, to the max.

How many pre-ordered buyers are not despairing?

Instead they are looking out of the window at the rain, cold, salt, dark and all the other things bikers moan about for half the year, ticking off the days, wetting themselves in excitement over the joy of a new bike AND a 14 registration plate. Patience is a virtue and often has its own rewards.... And will spawn lots of 'Show us your new reg bike' type threads, with their standard (if somewhat unexciting) 'Nice bike, mate' replies.

Of course if they had been really, really, really keen, they could have sourced a bike in Spain, bought it, ridden it home and had it sitting in their garage. Bods buy all sorts of things in Europe; why not a 'must have' motorcycle? It's easy, the EU has made it so.
