Well to day I had to go to Lincolnshire place called Muckton Bottom,
With a shiny GS in garage how could I not take it.
So brief test report
300 mile round trip today and very impressed so far,
54 to gallon
Only A and B roads kept revs below 5000, top gear that's about 85. So pleanty for running in
Really cumfy even with optional low seat,
Today was a mixed day of fog n rain on the way so set mode to rain and soft suspension.
I was truly enjoying the ride even tho temp never got above 3.5 degrees
Screen works well set it in upper most position and it pushed most of the weather and road shite over my head, I'm only 5:8.
Heat grips good but left seems cooler than right ?
Hand guards pushed damp over hands gloves stayed dry
Knees stay dry too.
Coming back weather picked up, rods dried up, so changed to road mode n found it better as I started to hoon through Thetford forest n started to test the handling a little more,
Blimey this is one dam fine bike.
Gear lever is a little strange but getting used to to, but rear brake peadle is far to low and I missed it a couple times so its spanners out tonight to see if I can sort that out,

So compared with 1150GS its a whole leap forward, compared withTiger 800 a different league but it does cost twice as much.

Am I glad I spent huge amount of dosh on a big white beemer you betcher.

Hope this helps anyone chin stroking, all the best NLL.

Nice one NLL, I'm looking forward to many long days on mine over the next few months:thumby::beerjug::JB

Great report. Thank you. Among many things, I like this part in particular:

« Really cumfy even with optional low seat, »

My last experience with a BMW GS low seat was torture. Went for Sargent (US.)

As for the brake pedal being too low, BMW sell an accessory to raise it. As if they couldn't have done that with the original pedal to begin with. Food for thought.

Getting more impatient by the minute.

hi mate. if you dont mind me asking why did u go to muckton bottom, there are only about 2 houses there and 1 is my best mates :)

How did you get on with the rear brake pedal in the ene. Is it adjustable for height?

No I'ts not adjusable as you say,

Best bet is the Touratech one, this folds and adjusts for length and height

part no 045-5395 page 201 in the thick book,

hope this helps

Rubbed out mate doesn't seem to be any way of adjusting height of peddle hummm,

My foot has to pivot forward quite an angle to press brake, all cranked over that's gonna be an issue.

I've fitted Pivot Pegz to my LC. Although they are for the 12GS up to 2013, and not specifically for the LC, they fit fine, and do what they are meant to. They don't sit quite straight as you look at the bike, but I don't look at my feet while I ride:rob:D

Are they a bit sharp on road boots?
