Six turned up, an 'all star' line up IMO,

Food was great as usual, top thai food in a Trad(ish) pub, a great combination

A bit 'pearl harbour' on the ride there and back though, I felt a bit sorry for Clive especially at his age

Well, starting as I mean to go on... Here's the First Excuse for Not Making It This Year...

I'd got it all planned. Schedule a client meeting in for 10am so there'd be plenty of time to clear (ish) my desk before skiving off early to get home, pick up the bike at 6ish to ride down to the G&D.

Client meeting starts, goes on, and keeps going on. Eventually knock it on the head at 2.30 with an 'urgent urgent urgent gotta gotta do it NOW or the world will end job. That's OK. Client says they'll call back at 5.30 to pick it up. Only a bit of scribbling, so that's fine.

Of course, client's next meeting (in Oxford) goes on a bit, doesn't get out of Oxford until 5.30, so the A40's a carpark. Client doesn't get to my office until 6.45, more discussions, amends and banjax, get away at just before 8.30pm.

Social life? I remember one of those...

Terrible really, I had to go home early and get to bed with a mug of hot choccie.
At least I had sensible muffs and heated jacket for the ride home

And breaking with tradition at this time of year, 4 of the 6 were on bikes. I drove, on account of having nowhere to put me crutches on the bike. Don't what Desert Rat's excuse was, though
