Hi folks,
Well thats ten years this month since i passed the old bike test and today was my first puncture, bloody small tack in the middle of my PR4 rear tyre after only 1K miles. Luckliy i had bought a set of rat tails and the tools so went and gave it a go didnt have any glue as the ba*tard glue had burst in my wee tool box. Anyway was stuck so cleaned out the hole then put in the rat tail its a tough job strong buggers these tyres thankfully. So got the old £10 compressor out and up she blows 42psi and it seems to be holding.
The question i have is can you run with these rat tails or should i get a new tyre?
Its right in the middle of the tyre so how safe is it to run with these rat tails or is it simply a get you home fix??
I have been searching prior to posting this but wanted to ask for my case as i couldnt see anything about longevity.
Thanks as normal for the thoughts...
