Thank you, you have summarised my point exactly:thumb

That's not you Tim, you have 16,623 posts. It's someone else. And it was good to meet you on your way back from Mongolia, as you came through Turkey on one or your many trips to foreign lands. Have you been to the Brecons, good phone reception so I hear.

I accept that you were not paid by Touratech but I wonder, what would you have done differently, if you had been ?.

If Simon and Lisa are giving a fair impression of a suit they've had for a week (just one week), then what difference would it make if they'd been paid or not paid, the latter being the case? If it's fair, then it's fair.

Are you asking them to say they would lie for cash?

These are fellow riders, not mockney Jamie Oliver who would no more shop at Sainsburys than I'd eat at his restaurant. They aren't E & C getting pissed off because they aren't being given the bikes they wanted. They aren't some arse of a footballer and his wag wife snubbing an Aston Martin because they want a Bentley.

If the only way people will give them any credibility over the review is if they find fault with the suit, what does that say about our expectations and values?
What if it just happens to be as near perfect as a suit could get and they never find anything wrong with the suit?
I've said before that aesthetically it doesn't do it for me, functionality wise I've no opinion worth making and I'm reliant on Simon and Lisa providing some user insight and as such I welcome their input.

fair words

Mr Lamble.

ps
i dont know what simon did in a former career, but he would make an excellent journalist.

Alternatively, if you really really really want this Companero suit LOL, then you could always order and have it shipped from Germany. After all, we're all in the EU so there will be no additional Import Taxes/VAT to pay.

UK prices: trousers £706.81, jacket £1196.89. Total £1903.70 or €2240

DE prices: trousers €649, jacket €1099. Total €1748 or £1485

If ordered from Germany add say €25 for postage bringing the total to €1773 or £1505

There you go, just saved you £400 :ronno

Afraid not. You'll need a German address to ship to, otherwise TT Germany will refer you to TTUK. I'm sure that this point has been made previously...to death.

is it legal?

Yep. No retailer is obliged to sell to you if they don't want to.

Um, never come across that one before and I order goods back and forth across all continents depending on price.

Edit - anyone could of course telephone TT in Germany enquiring as to whether or not any such policy exists (mentioning first the horrendous UK price of course) and see what reply they come up with. Ask to speak to Thomas who speaks very good English although in truth all the staff are pretty much converse in the language.

If it's any consolation, some of the items TTUK source for TTAG cost more in Germany than the UK. Obviously TT's German factory and warehouse is the main source of TTUK items so the flow isn't balanced, but there is a two way flow.

This is in fact very common. Microsoft operate such a policy, as do Apple. Oris have just announced a new distribution set up which penalises a big seller in Australia, by insisting they can't export outside of their territory.

But this is going off topic.

Perhaps Simon might be good enough to sell his suit to someone in the UK? This should pay for a few tyres, litres of fuel and a second head torch, with enough left over for something from Hein-Gericke? It should be worth more now it has some Cambodian dirt on it, for the real adventure look.

...
You may be thinking of someone else, unless you were in South America and rode with us there, but I'm sure you didn't ..we would have remembered!!!

You turned up at the BMF rally for a ride around the arena - remember :D

No need to deal with TT if you don't want to.

Plenty of authorised Stadler dealers in Germany:

Stadler is generally reckoned to be one level up from Rukka and lots of people here feel Rukka is worth the money.

Your mileage may vary given the oversuit story and exorbitant price but it seems some people are having a whine simply due to the Touratech connection.

Great reply Simon...not that you're really answerable to anyone as your lifestyle has proven beyond doubt:clap

So, because i don't want to ride around the world for 8 years, yes that's right " i don't want to ride around the world for 8 years", means an opinion on a suit and it's price, and that is going to be worn by people that 95% of the time will only ever ride in europe isn't worthy. :D

And i'd imagine if was going off for a few years the £2k might be better value put towards the travelling/living expense . ;)

This thread won't do the suit any harm at all. Everyone who logs onto ukgser will know about it .... :D
