I picked my "new" 1100GS up today and rode her back 165 miles. I am very impressed. The roads were dry, but I had a lot more confidence in the handling and braking than on my Triumphs (OK the GS is not as fast, but shes got a fair turn of speed and sounds really good when opened up). Thoroughly enjoyed the ride and I could still walk and feel my fingers after 3 hours (which I can't on the triumphs) So a big thumbs up for the GS. I feel a long term relationship building here.
Anyway, the previous owner has had a Pirelli Diablo Strada fitted on the back (its now done about 200 miles) It performed really well in the dry, and I have Diablos on my Daytona and they work well in both dry and wet on that. The problem I have on the GS is that the front tyre is a Conti road attack which is on its way out. Does anyone know of a Pirelli fitment for the fron which could be matched with the Diablo rear, or should I bite the bullet and get a pair of Conti trails and sell the nearly new Pirelli rear.....which seems a shame but hey ho.
