After picking up the new bike a couple of weeks ago I've been itching to take it out for a run. So today I braved the weather and took it for a run down through carnwath to Peebles and back up through Edinburgh.
My first impression is that it is so much smoother at low speeds than the old 2009 oil / air cooled model. Still very comfortable and agile to ride and I love the adjustable settings for power on the move. I really noticed the difference changing from normal to rain on the slippy bits.
Overall I think it's probably the best bike I've ridden as an all rounder and I love it. I can't wait to take it for a real run over several hundred miles. The only bad point I found is that it sounds terrible when sitting at the lights or at low speed. The engine sounds like there is something rattling about inside it. This changes when you get up to speed or under load, but it is a small price to pay for all that excellence.

Cheers for now, Graham.:augie:augie:augie:clap:clap

I think we should all be happy for Kato, it's great when you like your new bike, I've had a few that I didn't like after a few hundred miles.....

need to arrange a sunday blast out to put more miles on that machine mate:D

I believe the rattling is referred to as character.

When I first set off on mine the first gear selection is always smooth and quiet, every other time I select first from a standing still position, it's sounds terrible.

It comes to something when you wrote (in July) I braved the weather.

Don't knock my 09 rattle bucket! Its called character apparently :-)

I daren't ride a WC on the road as I know I'd probably want one! Motorrad Central are bringing some bikes to The Leadburn on Thursday night, will head there for something to do but will leave my licence at home so I cant be tempted! I like gadgets and the WC seems to be laden with them. I do like the idea of power change modes and using the enduro mode at Central park was confidence inspiring, especially the brakes.
