My 2017 GSA TE goes in for its first service on Saturday 25th.

Yes i know its a bit sad that a bike bought in October 2016 will only have done 600 miles by this Saturday, but work and weather have stopped me going out.

Anyway, my question is...how long does the first service usually take? BMW have quoted 90 minutes? Seem about right?

And yes...the service is free...woo hoo.

Lucky to get it free. Mine was £ 160 and yes about an hour and a half

Nah the 'free' ones take about 2 minutes. 1.59s of that is wheeling in and out the workshop.

BMW do nothing for free:D

I got the 600 and 6000 miles services for free as part of my deal when i brought my GSA from the lovely chaps at Bahnstormers Maidenhead. :thumb2

Mine was done this morning, was free, and took 45mins while I waited. R1200GS Exclusive

I booked mine in to a BMW Dealer where I live and they quoted me £170, I then rang the dealer I bought the bike from and they said had I been closer to them it would have been free, had they charged it was only £150.

The quoted price was disputed by me and they reduced it, so bear that in mind when you book the bike in.

Its basically an oil and filter change and a check over, you'd imagine it shouldn't take too long, 5 hours later I got the bike back, went for quite a long ride, chucked round some bends got home washed it down and discovered oil all down the right hand side of the engine and a rubber cap flapping about in the breeze.

Oil filler cap was loose and the engine coolant top up cap hadn't been refitted :mad::mad:

Lets just say I went back to the dealer and raised the roof about the standard of their service, they were most apologetic and refunded me £75 :thumby::thumby::thumby:

Paying what we do you'd expect a premium service wouldn't you.
