I'm off on the 23rd, then getting home the following Tuesday, so just a quick jaunt down to Italy. Can't bloody wait!:JB

opening 1st May

The Grossglockner company announced today that the road will open on May 1st. The section to the Franz Josef Hohe (for the glacier) will not be open until the 4th May.

The Nockalmstrasse, owned by the same company, also opens on the 1st May. Sadly the Maltahochalmstrasse won't open util the 9th due to the ongoing risk of avalanches

I am waiting for new tyres for my GS (Friday I am told) and as I could paint on more tread than that left on the old ones my first ride will have to wait. We might not be able to resist opening day in the car though!

All open now

Today they opened the final section up to the Franz Josef Hohe. Come and enjoy!
