Soon to be a first time GS owner

As it is planned I will be trading in my Sprint RS and picking up the keys to my first GS for my 29th birthday this January!!!

After reading the posts here about the "smiles per miles" I am more excited than I was when I got my first bike!

It's getting a bit that way isn't it?!!!!:D

I still also ride a VFR 750 as well as my GS1200!

The things I notice when I climb back aboard the VFR:

1 The grips are far chunkier
2 The brakes are spongey
3 I'm pointing at the floor in the riding position, what must it be like on a Ducati 999?
4 It's not as torquey but far better than a CBR600
5 Having a Shoei XR1000 with a Pinlock visor, I'm always looking through the edge of the visor insert
6 It revs far higher!
7 It feels tiny! (The VFR that is!)
8 Better wind protection
9 I keep drier when it's raining
10 I can't drive as hard into bends as on the GS
11 I can't see over hedges i.e. round bends
12 It doesn't have expandable panniers, so only ride with a top box since panniers look ugly on a VFR
13 The Honda heated grips get hotter
14 It never needs oil top ups between services
15 I can put both feet firmly on the ground
16 I'm forever topping up the scottoiler and adjusting the chain

and finally

17 I never know which gear I'm in!
