Hi Guys
Had my 1st off road experience today and just had to share it.
If this is in the wrong section then apologies:augie

I'm quite new to GS (had it about 3 months now) and still getting used to it, but reading a lot of off road stuff on here I've been looking for somewhere to go that will ease me in.
Well today I found a large deserted car park (overspill for football/rugby) that is all gravel, plenty of dips and puddles and a grass verge about 3 foot high that I managed to have a go at as well.
I know this is not much in the way of off road compared to you guys but my first taste of it was awesome and very addictive.
My GS 12 is like being on my Grifter when I was a kid,(we weren't rich enough for me to have a bmx!!!)
Going up & down hills and splashing through puddles and skidding in the gravel- just fantastic fun.:JB
I have finally got some dirt on my GS and really enjoying it all - I think I've made a good decision getting this.

All the best
JJ

Getting back on track JJ, I recommend you get yourself signed up for something like the Yamaha Off-Road Experience in Wales for a superb introduction by nice, competent instructors. Or come along to one of the UKGSer events, and have the p155 taken out of you enthusiastically when you fall off. :D

Good to hear you're getting out there - and riding off-road is all about practice, where-ever you can get it. Learning to control the bike when it's sliding, riding on the pegs - that's what it's all about :thumb2

Next time - get pics ;)

I'm sure my mate will capture the first time I fall off, on his phone and I'll be sure to post it and be part of the falling off brigade:comfort

Cheers
JJ

The Raleigh Bomber, WOW that takes me back. I've just phoned my Dad and he thinks that my old bomber may still be in his out building. I'm going to dig it out and do it up. I loved that bike, the ordinal mountain bike, I converted mine into a 15 speed.
