Get and take an E111

All the advice is good, however the thing which has saved me the most time, money and grief is an E111, should the unfortunate happen and you have an off it makes your life immeasurably easier. They are free and available from most post offices it enables you to get free medical treatment in French hospitals without hassle.
If you are intending to into Paris then it would be a very good idea

got back yesterday.had a great timethe trip turned out to be a great adventure.accommodation proved to be a magor problem(bank holiday weekend)next time will book before going, for the first night at least.anyway definately recommended if youv never done it before just go and do it.we covered 1700 miles the wife thorouly enjoyed it so much so we are going again in september. might have to buy sat-nav could make life easier.
