Sticker

Thanks for your approval/comments on sticker, lot of interest, people asking about cost and postage etc.

If you shove a euro or two in your nearest Haiti box, I'll look after the rest!

Hope to get them printed and laminated by Wed, then I'll post them out.

cheers!

Hi Paddy Dakar

Can you put me down for a sticker too. Thanks.:beerjug:

Fair play to you for the Haiti thing, Great gesture:clap.

Eircom & Vodafone have been conspiring to keep me off-line from home but I'm in work now so all's right with the world again ;)

Guys & gals, I have to say a big 'thank you' to everyone who turned up on Saturday. A great turn out, given the conditions, by one & all. If I hadn't organised the run I would probably have taken one look outside & turned over for a second sleep :D 'Interesting' I think describes it pretty well. But when guys have come from as far afield as Manchester you have to make the effort, don't ya ? 'Longest distance ridden' would be a close run thing between Wee Davey (Coleraine) & GerryC (Tralee via Cork !). Well done to both of youse :thumb2

While it didn't feel that awful cold early on Saturday the visibility was sh1t all the way from home to the top of the Wicklow Gap where we were suddenly riding into bright, warm(ish) sunshine. Which was a relief as GerryC had forewarned me about the ice. There was nothing on the way down to the Glendalough road but the bit into Laragh had a few icy patches which became more frequent on the way from Laragh to Rathdrum  All negotiated safely though.

The worst bit was the bit after Shillelagh, where the accident was. 'Twas a tad slippy but again everyone got through. From there on all I could think about was the forthcoming feed :drool

The general consensus was that both the fish (tasty & plenty of it) and the chips (hot & crispy) were excellent and it would be a brave man who stated whether the Saltee Chipper or Mortons in Ballycastle (FD3) was the best (so far).

Finally, I'd like to commend all the 'new boys'. It was brilliant to see so many new faces turning up. Well done lads. Just don't expect me to remember all your names & 'handles' :rob

"Watch out Gerry, The Grumpy One is rubbing off on you" :augie

Thank You Jockser for leading us astray and Bin for sweeping us up :D
That was Great craic. :bounce1
the conditions were 'interesting' - fair play to all involved. :clap
(how many made it home with clean undies? :nenau )
ANYhow,
before the camera vibrated off the Bike :blast- i took it off and handed it to Mrs Og (Ta Linda).... just as we entered a "challenging series of bends" (how the hell do you stay on the Bike and keep a hold of my rubbish Linda?! :bow )
i did manage to get a bit of footage -it's not the best / but gives a vague idea of the rustic charm of Irish Regional Roads :augie.
did a quick edit and stuck it on youtoob. :thumb2

will try and put up a few piccies later.
got to say - that was a great way to blow out them winter cobwebs. :) :) :)

See youse all at FD5 :bounce1 :bounce1

Thanks again for a great rideout. It was certainly an "interesting" choice of route.
I have to thank Laurence for giving me a lift back to the bike after if suffered a breakdown and then following me back as far as loughlinstown to make sure it didn't breakdown again. It suffered a terminal fuel gauge failure i.e it was bloody empty of petrol.

Thanks again.

Riding with you along the M7 at in the dark, in the freezing fog and then realising your visor and glasses were misted, you had no indicators, no mirrors, no screen....

the hounda is now fixed (fuel return was fcuked - mega flood hence no start)
