What about somewhere closer, say the "Dirty Duck" on the sea shore at Holywood. They do great chowder:D

Still a 200 mile run on Boring roads for the Folks from Kildare / Dublin

I've been yarnin with Davy Morton, Daisy Duke and Boirche We are looking at an RV where we can do a few wee roads and end up in Carlingford at O Hares

Yes We've been before but It's central for Folks from the North and Folks from the South and If we do nothing more than have a run and Meet up, "perhaps" a wee scoot if conditions are favourable and a Bowl of Chowder (or other forms of Nosh are available) then its better than sittin on yer arse watchin the Goggle Box all day

Fish Dash, Chowder Chase, Christmas Lunch... whatever it is I'm there, if only to wish all you lovely people a Merry Christmas, oh and eat some scrummy food :fnikefork

Where was the Fish Dash the time we went to Waterford? Was that not in winter? Killmore Quay I think it was great day out and the first time I saw a minus on the temp guage. Hard core adventure bikers

That's the one all right.
The spin home was memorable - ask Nud1e.

Freezing fog

Froze all my parts in freezing fog from Limerick to a mile or two from Kilmore Quay.
On the run back, mislaid GerryC somewhere close to New Ross - I see that someone must have found him.
The return was every bit as miserable, if not worse. Had to stop in Clonmel and thaw out in a Kentucky.
Almost a repeat on a memorable ride from Penrith to Stranraer on March 19th 1979, as there were no heated grips on the R75/6 and the sleet had saturated my gloves. Spent what seemed like hours using hot air hand dryers to dry gloves and thaw fingers and thumbs.
Kilmore Quay Fish Dash is freeze burned into my brain.

Mere Suggestion

What about a Meet at Carlingford @ 12:00

That way folks can make their way there and Clare and I have a Plan to book in a couple of bunches of "8" (obviously this depends on who is still up for a wee toodle?) family groups

How the feck we can convince them when we arrive that we're all related????

Maybe tell them its a Religious Gathering???

Church of Pastafaria??

I was up over some new roads to me taking a friend for a biopsy in Coleraine and cracking wee GS type roads

On a lesser note on the coast on the way back. Whilst it was 9 degrees in Glenarm and as I headed back down the coast road it was down to 3 in the shade of the cliffs I had to turn the heater up

???Any news on this one???

As Above Phil

Main run to Ballycastle "postponed" till longer days / nights If its icy or frosty etc etc we'd be stuck on main roads Lets face it the idea is to get around routes known to the local to the chippy and see stuff we wouldn;t normally see

I didn't factor in the change of time etc etc

But I did a fair bit of research over the back roads and have a selection of bits folks from outside our area may never have seen
